Much More Music:
The most popular music stations in Ann Arbor were CKLW, WRIF, WDRQ, WABX, WAAM and WNRS. Former WNRS DJ Arthur Penhallow had just started his 30 year run at WRIF. Ted Heusel's Community Comment program was the most listened-to talk show on WPAG. During our high school years Bob Seger rocked the house with Teegarden & VanWinkle at the John Sinclair Freedom Rally, and Jimmy Osterberg was blazing the punk rock trail with his Stooges as Iggy Pop. Ann Arbor bands who held the limelight included Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen (Hot Rod Lincoln) & Brownsville Station (Smokin' in the Boys Room). Glen Frey was already in California and was jamming with Linda Ronstadt's back-up band, soon to be known as The Eagles.
